The Last King of Scotland is a film based around the true events that took place in Uganda under the reign of the infamous Idi Amin.

It was by pure chance that a Doctor from Scotland (James McAvoy) goes on a Ugandan medical mission and become involved with Idi Amin (Forest Whitaker).

Amin is impressed by Dr Garrigan’s brazen attitude in a moment of extreme crisis and appoints him to be his personal physician (after he appoints himself as Ugandan President).

As his physician, Garrigan becomes Amin’s closest confidante, friend and almost like an adopted son!

In the beginning. Garrigan is flattered by his new position but he soon realises the reality of Amin’s regime and his own role in it.

The films shows how Garrigan attempts to right his wrongs and get out of Uganda alive…

Some of the best stories are true stories and this is one of the best true stories.

It looks like a very interesting film and would definitely be worth watching.
