The new film Hannibal Rising shows you how the infamous Hannibal Lecter began.

So Hannibal Rising explain how Hannibal Lector began and how his experiences as a kid and young adult led him amazing contributions in the fields of music, paintings, forensics and medicine.

The film begins in World War Two in a medieval castle situated in Lithuania. The castle was built by Hannibal’s forbearer, Hannibal the Grim.

The child Hannibal somehow manages to escape the terror of the Eastern Front and the aftermath in Russia. He fins safety in France with his uncle’s widow. She is a beautiful but mysterious Japanese lady who is decended from Lady Murasaki Shikibu, author of the Tale of Genji.

With her help and wisdom he begins to understand the unbearable recollections that he has of World War Two.

In the film he finds the means to pay a visit to the outlaws who changed him for evermore as they battled on helplessly during the collapse of the Eastern Front. Hannibal sort of help these war criminals towards self-knowledge even as we see his own nature become clear to him.

This looks like a very scary movie and I’m sure fans of the previous Hannibal films will not be disappointed as it looks like its based on a similar theme to the first movie.
